Refashioning Sweaters

Updated Photo: The Brown Sweater Refashion

The "before" expertly hand knit but enormous heavy wool cardigan.

A while back I found two extremely voluminous sweaters in the this-was-so-awful-we-were-going-to-throw-it-away-but-maybe-some-desperate-soul-will-take-it-for-free bin at a local charity thrift shop. Stained and shapeless though they were, I took them home.

So, now I am in the deconstruction phase of two sweater refashions. Update: this one is done.

I scoured the web for ideas and found many. Ironically, both the refashions are shaping up to be nothing like any of the ideas I found, but these are all a great ideas on revamping, so I'll pass them on.

  1. oh! maybe this will help broaden my horizons away from just unraveling and re-knitting (which i try to apply to sweaters that really shouldn't realistically be unraveled).

  2. I ran across a blog post by someone else who loves unraveling. Of course, I thought about you. I couldn't find it again, or I would have passed it on to you.
