Another Punjabi Top/Silk Sweater Refashion

I made this top from a hand-me-down Indian top, a fine gauge silk sweater from my wardrobe and some vintage lace. Last fall I made a very similar top. See how I made the original version here. On this one, I left the sleeves on the Punjabi top and added extra lace at the junction of the woven sleeve and the knit sleeve. I also made the sweater panel at the bottom a bit longer.

Orange and red is a bit over the top, color-wise, but it's such a happy combination and I loved the embroidery, beads and sequins applied to an almost rustic linen-like fabric.

  1. I love the color combination! Actually, I wore a very similar combination today.

  2. Thank you, Barbara! I think my feelings may be because most of the time I wear some shade of brown. I wore it out (of the house) and felt comfortable in it, so I guess it works for me, too.
