Manilla Covered Paperback
I got an big manila envelope in the mail that had a lot of pretty stamps on it, so instead of tossing it out, I used it to cover a favorite, but very tattered paperback.
#1: Cut a piece of the envelope the size of the paperback plus roughly 1 inch extra all the way around.
#2: Coat the paper with stick glue.
#3: Coat the book with stick glue.
#4: Adhere the paper to the book. Press down and get rid of any air
#5: Trim the excess paper off even with the covers of the book.
#6: Cut two 1 inch strips of paper a bit longer than the cover of the book.
#7: Fold the strips in half long-ways.
#8: Use stick glue to adhere the strips to the edges of the cover. Trim off the excess.

Love it. Found beauty via the postal service.
ReplyDeleteI also bound my paperbacks with envelopes pretty catalog pages, craft paper or wrapping paper - whatever I can find. I also add a piece of ribbon to the spine to use as a bookmark.
