T-Shirt Scrap Macrame Bracelet

I made this simple little macrame bangle bracelet using scraps left over from this t-shirt refashion.

How-to:

Begin by preparing the strips of t-shirt fabric. Mine were approximately 1 inch wide. The center two strands can be just a few inches longer than you need to wrap around your wrist. The longer knotting strands should be about 4 times longer than the center strands. If you need to sew several strips of t-shirt fabric together, lay them end to end with approximately 1 inch overlapping and machine sew using a zig zag stitch.

Stack the strips on top of each other with the two shorter center strands at the bottom of the stack and the two longer knotting on top and extending about 1/2 inch beyond the top of the center strands and shown. Fold that 1/2 inch extra over and hand stitch down to create a neat starting point.

Make a series of square knots until the bracelet is long enough. If you don't know how to make a series of square knots, look here. As you make the knots turn the folded side of the strip down to maintain a neat appearance.

Keep knotting until the bracelet is long enough. Keep in mind that this is a bangle style and it must be able to fit over your hand, as well. 

Pull the last knot as tight as you can and clip off all but one of the knotting cords about 1/2 inch from the end. Clip the remaining strand off to 1 inch in length. Fold the longest strand over the other strands to create a neat end similar in appearance to the beginning of the bracelet. Hand stitch down. Without breaking the thread stitch the ends together to form a bangle.
